Downe Manor Back To ‘Good’
The Downe Manor Primary School team are now celebrating having successfully regained ‘Good’ status in our recent Ofsted inspection.
Sharon Kearns, Headteacher at Downe Manor said “This has been the best part of being a Head Teacher, being able to show the inspectors our school, our children and amazing staff and for them to agree that after all of our hard work, we are ‘Good’ in all areas”.
The two-day inspection was undertaken on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th June with the inspectors particularly impressed with the quality of education, leadership and management, SEN provision, behaviour and approach to personal development the school has taken.
This comes after two years hard work by teachers, support staff, governors and administrators to get back to ‘Good’ and give pupils the best start in their educational journey.
Trudy Papafio, Co-Chair of Governors commented “it’s been so rewarding to work with and be part of the Downe Manor team and whilst the journey was challenging, everyone wanted to work hard to achieve the ‘Good’ status and show how proud they are of the school”.
The inspection looked at many areas of the school from SEN/early years provision to school wide educational data, to interviews with governors and parents in coming to its overall assessment of the school.
Mark Coles, Co-Chair of Governors added “I’m delighted for the team at Downe Manor, and we as Governors would like to dedicate this success to the entire team who have worked day in and day out to achieve it. Everyone’s commitment and determination has meant we have got the result we wanted and felt we deserved”.
With the summer term concluding in the coming weeks, pupils and staff can have a summer break knowing the school is on the right track and will be looking to continue to improve.
