Why Choose Downe Manor?
Choosing the right school for your child is probably the most important decision that you will have to make as a parent.
At Downe Manor, our vision is to provide our pupils with the skills they need to progress successfully through primary school and beyond. We aim to prepare our children today for the lives they will lead tomorrow. We want to grow self-confident pupils, who care about each other and the world they live in, working hard in everything they do.
Our school is friendly and welcoming and the children at Downe Manor are the best example of that.
Our recent Ofsted inspection in June 2024 said,
The overall effectiveness of Downe Manor is 'Good'.
'This is a welcoming and inclusive school'.
'Staff have high expectations of what pupils can achieve. All pupils follow the ambitious curriculum, including those with special educational needs...'
Our curriculum at Downe Manor is created by our staff for our children. We believe that children should learn all subjects. We respect and celebrate our diverse community and have created a curriculum that is relevant to the children’s experiences but that inspires them to explore, question and understand the world they will be part of, beyond primary school.
All children have weekly music classes taught a specialist music teacher, singing assemblies and specialist sports instructors for PE. Our class teachers are trained to become subject leaders and are part of building a curriculum that shows progression and encourages challenge and inspiration. We know that reading is essential for children to become independent learners and we actively encourage reading for pleasure using quality children’s texts as well as Pearson’s Bug Club Phonics and reading books.
Downe Manor is a two form entry school (Nursery to Year 6) in a residential part of Northolt, Ealing. Our well maintained building and grounds make our school an inviting and welcoming primary school, please contact the school office for a tour.
